Malaysian Cooking Class
Curry Laksa is one of Malaysia's most popular noodle dishes, and in my opinion, a fine example of the marriage of cultures in Malaysia.
Two types of noodles are bathed in a mild coconut curry broth and topped with all manner of delicious toppings - mussels, shrimp, fish balls, fish cakes, fish tofu, tofu puffs, quail eggs, shredded chicken, flowering chives, crispy shallots and beansprouts.
Let me show you how to use some of Southeast Asia's favorite spices and aromatics - lemongrass, galangal, candlenuts, kaffir lime etc. We'll also discuss how you can use these in your every day cooking to add flavor and interest to dishes that you already make. Lemongrass in meatloaf? Yup!
A hands-on class - you decide how involved you'd like to be in the preparation of our meal. We'll cook together, then each assemble our own tasting bowl of the meal we create.
All levels welcome. Everyone leaves with printed recipes and info on where to purchase the harder-to-find ingredients.
